Celebrating Our Community’s Support
 Thanks to the incredible support of our community, MVAA has achieved remarkable milestones this year. For example, the Empower a Rising Star (EARS) Scholarship Program—funded by donors such as Highway Appliance, Heidi Kavanaugh, SPHS Monessen Communities that Care, the Community Foundation of Westmoreland County, and a $10,000 grant from the Washington County Community Foundation—has provided invaluable opportunities to aspiring young musicians.

Through this program, students receive access to music lessons, mentorship, and performance opportunities. These scholarships have empowered local youth to develop their skills, build confidence, and shine as artists and individuals.

“Programs like EARS wouldn’t exist without the generosity of our donors. These contributions change lives and keep the arts alive in the Mon Valley,” said Annette Buffer, President of MVAA.

Supporting Our Ensembles and Programs
 Donor contributions also sustain MVAA’s renowned performance groups, including the Sam Bill Legacy Band, TC Jr. Stage Band, and the Regimental Fife & Drum Unit. These ensembles not only bring joy to audiences across the region but also serve as an avenue for musicians to collaborate and grow.

New and innovative programs, like the upcoming MVAA Podcast and concert series, further highlight the incredible musical heritage of the Mon Valley. By showcasing local legends and inspiring stories, these projects preserve and celebrate our community’s rich cultural legacy.
