MVAA Awarded EARS Funds Through CFFC Spring Grants

Mon Valley Academy for the Arts (MVAA) has been awarded grant funding through the Community Foundation of Fayette County as part of its Spring grant awards, which distributed over $42,000 to support impactful community initiatives across the region.

The funding will directly support MVAA’s Empower a Rising Star (EARS) program, which provides scholarship-based access to private music instruction for students of all ages. By reducing financial barriers, EARS helps individuals develop musical skills, build confidence, and engage more fully in the arts.

Through this award, MVAA will expand opportunities for students in Fayette County and surrounding communities, ensuring that access to high-quality arts education remains both affordable and attainable.

“We are honored to be included among this year’s grant recipients,” said Annette Buffer, President of Mon Valley Academy for the Arts. “This support allows us to continue opening doors for students through the EARS program. We encourage anyone who has ever wanted to learn an instrument or pursue music to take that first step and join us.”

MVAA remains committed to providing accessible, high-quality arts programming throughout Southwestern Pennsylvania, serving youth and adults through instruction, performance opportunities, and community engagement.
