MVAA Continues “Crafty Conversations” Teen Program

Mon Valley Academy for the Arts (MVAA) invites teens to participate in its ongoing Crafty Conversations program, held on the second Wednesday of each month from 6:00–7:00 PM at the Peter J. Daley Cultural Center in Brownsville. The next session will take place on March 11 and will focus on collage making.

Crafty Conversations provides a welcoming, creative space where teens can gather, express themselves through art, and build meaningful connections. Whether creating an expressive collage or designing a personal vision board, participants are encouraged to explore their creativity in a relaxed, supportive environment. The program is offered free of charge.

The monthly sessions are facilitated by Miss Shayna, Artist and Prevention Education Specialist with DVSSP. MVAA highly values its partnership with DVSSP and appreciates the organization’s commitment to empowering young people and strengthening families throughout the region.

Crafty Conversations is also supported in part through generous donations of art supplies and funding assistance provided through MVAA’s partnership with Rivers of Steel. These contributions ensure that teens have access to quality materials and creative opportunities regardless of financial circumstances.

“Crafty Conversations is about more than making art—it’s about creating space for young people to be heard, supported, and inspired,” said Annette Buffer, President of Mon Valley Academy for the Arts. “We encourage teens to come out, participate, and experience how creativity can build confidence and connection.”

Crafty Conversations takes place at:
